Wow! It has been a while!!!

I can't believe how long it has been since I have posted. Read on, and you will understand why! Okay, so I decided that I needed to teach again. I just had an empty place inside and being the teacher at heart that I am, I decided to take a job teaching preschool at a local church. After much debate, I decided if I was going to teach, I was going to teach. I called the Homewood Board of Education to see if they had anything that they still needed filled (two weeks before school started!) and she said they were watching the numbers in K at Edgewood. As it turns out, the numbers were there SOOOO I am teaching Kindergarten at Edgewood this year! This was not decided until the week before school started, so needless to say it has been a whirlwind. This was a new unit, so we had nothing "in stock"!! Thank goodness Homewood provides the teachers with what we need at request. Thanks to my wonderful team and administration, my room is set and I am all "Kindergartened up"! I had never taught below second grade, so it has been a change! Daniel has really prepared me for this job! He is actually going to preschool at St. Mark's, where Matt's mom teaches preschool. He LOOOVES going to "Gran's" school. Caroline is staying part time with a friend of mine who is a stay at home mom and part time with her Gran. Matt is also in the midst of a career change, so needless to say we have been a household of MAJOR change over the past month! We will soon celebrate Caroline's first birthday. I just can't believe she is almost a year old. She has SUCH a fun personality. It is a strong one--she will let you know what she likes and does not like, and she will take you on to get what she wants (just ask Daniel!). They say little girls with big brothers are tough, and boy is that accurate with her! She is trying so hard to talk. I think she will be an earlier talker like Daniel. I am attaching some pics from us playing around here at the house below. Hope everyone is well!

This is what Caroline does when you tell her to smile!! Such a hoot!

This little girl LOOVES for her daddy to "make her fly!"

Daniel is his spider man mask. Notice the official spider man thing he is doing with his fingers...

Caroline MUST do whatever her big brother does. Wherever he goes, she must go. She idolizes him!

This is sissy trying to say give me the mask back! She thought wearing it was the funniest thing!

Fun at the Lake!

This past Saturday we went to Lake Martin with several friends and their children. We has so much fun playing in the sun, riding on the boat, enjoying good food, and ofcourse, singing karaoke (sp?). Daniel sang Sweet Caroline like a pro, and you would have thought David Allan Coe himself was there during Matt's performance! Paul and LeeAnn were wonderful hosts for a fabulous day at the Lake! We can't wait to play with everyone again soon!

Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah...

BATMAN!! Yes, we did wait in line for an HOUR at the library last Friday for Daniel to meet the one and only Batman. Actually, it was some poor guy who likely got around six dollars an hour to place his hands on his hips and look as superheroish as possible for adoring children. Most of these children truly believed that they were seeing the great Dark Knight himself. Not Daniel! As we were leaving and I was pumping up this big experience, he looks up with those amazing blue eyes so full of intelligence and says, "Mom, that was not the real Bruce Wayne." So sad!! What really killed me was last Christmas when, as we were leaving "Santa" at the mall, he said "That was not the real Santa!" At least he still believes they exist. He just knows they are way too cool to hang out at the mall or the library! They grow up too fast.

"Batman" and Daniel

Soooo not impressed.

This Day Flew By!

This has been a super busy day for the kids and me! We woke up about 7, did the breakfast thing, and then headed to the gym at 9 for mommy to do bootcamp. And boy was it bootcamp! Part of the class is running and doing lunges outside and it was soooo hot and humid!!! After I took a shower and got the kids, Matt called and we ate lunch with him there at the club. It was fun! Caroline decided to make a little mess on daddy's work clothes, but he was a very good sport about it. I think she is already moving up to a size 4 diaper--she has had 3 leaks in her size 3s! After lunch we headed to McWane Science Center and did not leave there until around 3:30. Caroline has been such a good sport today as well. I have had to wake her from falling asleep in the car twice! Poor thing just couldn't get a nap in today. I guess that is the price you pay for being the second child in an on the go family! Matt's mom is coming over to watch the kids tonight so that we can go to the Calcutta for the golf tournament he is in this weekend. He and Ron are "on fire" these days so they might win their flight, or at least come in second. Good luck guys! I hope to see many of you tomorrow at Jack's bash, but for those of you I won't see--have a great weekend!

I know, I know...

So, I said I was going to be really good at posting and ofcourse I have totally slacked! Sorry! We have just been so super busy that I have not had the chance! We have had a great time visiting our friends in Georgia, going to MiMi and Paw Paw's house, playing with Ms. Carolyn at the gym, going to the pool, and having fun playdates with our MOMS club friends. I have just relocated (AGAIN) and fixed my camera, so I promise to do better with posting more pictures. Matt and Ron are playing in a golf tournament at the club this weekend and we have a spouse's dinner on Friday night. I will try to get a pic or two. We are also excited to be going to our friend Jack's first birthday party on Saturday. I know that will be a blast too! It is so hard to believe all of our little friends have almost made it through their first year of life. Not long ago, we were all pregnant! We are so blessed! I am posting the few recent pics I have taken from some MOMS club parties. Enjoy!

Yes, MY daughter has dirty BLONDE hair! At least she does have my brown eyes and tan skin!
